Donaghadee Ladies Guild meets once a week on a Wednesday evening at 8pm in Donaghadee Community Centre and we have been going strong for over 60 years. Each week we do a number of activities such as playing bingo, quizzes, playing beetle and lots of other games. Each year we chose a local charity that we fundraise for throughout the year by having Easter and Christmas Fairs and also ballot prizes. Each Easter we have an Easter Bonnet competition with some weird and wonderful hat entries. Throughout the year we have guest speakers on various topics, for example the PSNI on personal safety and an Optician from Specsavers about eye care and sight loss. In December and the run up to Christmas we have some of the local shops and local craft creators in the town come and display their seasonal goods. Basically, we are a group of women who love to meet up chat, socialise, have fun and not take life too seriously and we look forward to welcoming new members.
