Think you cook the perfect Ulster Fry? Now’s your chance to prove it.
Entries are now open for the Ulster Fry World Championships, taking place in the seaside town of Donaghadee on Saturday 15 August as part of the town’s summer festival celebrations.
Chefs from cafés, restaurants, hotels and B&Bs across the nine counties of Ulster are invited to enter for the chance to be crowned World Champion. Finalists will be selected by a judging panel and invited to cook their Ulster Fry live in front of an audience during the festival.
To keep things traditional, the fry must include just five classic ingredients:
Sausage, bacon, egg, soda bread and potato bread. Finalists will be judged on taste, presentation and use of local produce.
Taking part is not only great fun – it’s also a fantastic opportunity to showcase your skills, promote your establishment and celebrate one of Ulster’s most iconic dishes.
Last year’s winner reported a real boost in team morale and visitor numbers after taking home the title – so why not throw your hat in the ring?
If you think your fry could be the best in the world, we’d love to hear from you. Email info@visitdonaghadee.com
