Help us save the Sir Samuel Kelly

The Sir Samuel Kelly lifeboat rescued survivors from the Princess Victoria ferry disaster in 1953 and the Fastnet yacht race disaster in 1979. We hope to restore the vessel and build a maritime heritage centre around her in Donaghadee where she was stationed for 25 years and crewed by local volunteers from the Royal National Lifeboat Institution – the charity that saves lives at sea.

The project can only be a success with the approval of local people and we appeal to you to lend your support to the campaign. We are not asking for money, only that you complete the attached form to indicate you welcome the proposal which we believe will create jobs and a valuable tourist amenity.
